Horizons Live: Over the rainbow

Why understanding full value chain carbon intensity is trumping the colour of hydrogen

1 minute read

On this month's Horizons Live replay, our panel discussed why understanding full value-chain carbon intensity is trumping the colour of hydrogen.

Labelling hydrogen by colour is a convenient way of differentiating methods of production. But the future of low-carbon hydrogen hinges on governments putting in place regulations, subsidies and other incentives that are increasingly tied to the carbon intensity of the hydrogen produced. And when it comes to carbon intensity, the colours start to blur. It's time to look beyond the hydrogen rainbow.

Our host Gavin Thompson, Vice Chairman, Energy - Europe, Middle East & Africa, is joined by Flor Lucia De La Cruz, Principal Analyst, Hydrogen and Derivatives, Wei-In Lin, Managing Consultant, Power and Renewable Consulting, APAC
and Sam Bartlett, Director for the GH2 Standard and the CEO Roundtable, The Green Hydrogen Organisation.
