Commodity Market Report
Global short-term LNG demand tracker (Q3 2020)
Report summary
A resilient Asian market keeps the LNG market buoyant going into Winter 2020/21, while European market dynamics have shifted to allow potentially more LNG through summer 2021. As the epicentre of the global pandemic shifted west from Asia to Europe, and finally to the Americas, doomsday predictions on Asian LNG demand failed to materialise. Low spot LNG prices have led China, India and a number of Southeast Asian countries to take LNG over other sources of gas.
