The Fekola mine is 40 kilometres south of the city of Kéniéba, on the western border of Mali in the Kayes Region. The mine is an owner-operated open pit operationThe Fekola mine is 40km south of the city of Kéniéba, on the western border of Mali in the Kayes Region. The mine is an owner-operated open pit operation utilising conventional mining methods with an estimated life of mine of 9 years. The process plant comprises a carbon-in-pulp (CIP) circuit. In October 2019, work commenced on a plant expansion from a capacity of 6Mt/a to 7.5Mta. The expansion is scheduled to be completed in Q3,2020.
