Hellyer Tailings zinc smelter project
Report summary
The Hellyer zinc-lead mine was owned by Western Metals from 1998. In 2000 the mine closed, leaving a large potential mine of tailings which contain relatively useful levels of zinc, lead, silver and gold. Intec Ltd. bought the Hellyer tailings from the Western Metals' receivers for US$1M in January 2004.
