Piaui nickel operation
Report summary
The Piauí Nickel Project (PNP) is a nickel laterite heap leaching project owned by Brazilian Nickel Ltd. The company is currently planning development of the project in three stages. The first stage will involve the operation of a demonstration plant which will produce 1,000t/a of Ni in NHP for three years. Assuming US$200M in funding is secured the company expects that construction of the pilot plant will commence in 2018. The second stage will involve ramp up to 10,000t/a by 2022 and the third stage will see output increase to 22,800t/a for the remaining mine life.
