Asset Report
Indonesia Malay exploration basin
Report summary
The Malay Basin is a major sedimentary depocenter located off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and extends south into Indonesian waters. The Late Oligocene to Early Miocene oil and gas play has been the main focus of exploration to date in the basin. historically, the Indonesian Malay basin is well established and has had an average success rate of over 30%. However, there has only been three exploration wells drilled in the last decade, with the last discovery being made in 2012. Going forward, we forecast small prospective resources in this mature basin but high gas prices will help create positive value creation for future exploration.
