A major deepwater gas play was discovered by Anadarko (now Occidental) and Eni, after multiple giant gas discoveries between 2010 and 2014. Over 100 tcf of gas has been discovered in the Early Tertiary deepwater, and we expect a further 11 tcf will be added by exploration out to 2040. However an exciting emerging deepwater oil play will be the focus in the short term. Drilling in the Cretaceous Oil play will begin in 2021, delayed from 2020 as a result of the global pandemic.
