Brexit: Implications for downstream oil markets
Report summary
We consider the consequences of Brexit on European refiners and oil product markets over the next two years. The impact on European oil demand is expected to be greatest in relation to transport fuels. The UK refinery sector is unlikely to experience much impact in the short term. Longer term, there could be an impact in terms of compliance with EU directives and the impact from a re-introduction of trade levies.
