Report summary
The Chihuido de la Sierra Negra field was historically an important conventional oil producer for YPF. Despite drilling and workover activity, oil production has declined consistently since 2000. The block produces under secondary drive (water injection), while water cut averaged 97% over the past 10 years. Chihuido de la Sierra Negra has associated gas reserves. However, due to the high carbon dioxide content, most of gas produced is flared or reinjected.
