PETRONAS buys 10% in Khazzan from Oman Oil Company

PETRONAS has agreed to acquire a 10% stake in the giant Khazzan tight gas field in central Oman, operated by BP. The seller, Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (OOCEP) is the upstream arm of the state owned Oman Oil Company and currently holds a 40% stake. The deal consideration has not been disclosed, but we understand a competitive bid process took place, with multiple interested parties.
