Topic: Can the world replace Chinese solar supply chain?

In recent two years multiple barriers against solar equipment trade appeared. Big solar markets like India, the US, Brazil are imposing tariffs and duties on specifically on Chinese solar products. Combining the trade barriers, domestic content requirements and the incentives to build local solar manufacturing the governments are pushing local businesses to establish local solar supply chain. At the same time solar module manufacturing requires specific module components and more than 90% of the manufacturing of these capacity is concentrated in China. This presentation is going to examine the feasibility of decoupling from Chinese solar supply chain and self – sustainability capacity of India, the US, the Middle East and Europe to build their own solar supply chain.
