Kosmos confirms extension of Mauritanian field into Senegalese waters
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Kosmos proved the extension of the Tortue West (Ahmeyim) discovery into Senegalese waters, with its Guembeul-1 well in the Senegal Bove Basin. Estimated reserves are up to 17 tcf, boosting project economic viability and enhancing the prospect of a new world class basin. However, infrastructure shortage will be a major obstacle to monetising gas reserves. Securing a cross-border unitisation agreement and attracting financially and technically able partners will also be essential for the project to proceed.
