Report summary

The Pohokura field was discovered in 2000 by Fletcher Challenge Energy, and is New Zealand's primary gas source. It is on geological trend with the onshore Turangi and Mangahewa gas fields. The development of Pohokura was accelerated after reserves at Maui, then New Zealand's main producing gas field, were downgraded in 2002. FID was taken in June 2004 and production of gas and condensate began in 2006.
