Horizons Live: Taking the strain
How upstream could meet the demands of a delayed energy transition
1 minute read
Barring a radical shift in policy and investment, the world is edging towards a slow-paced transition. Our delayed energy transition scenario means 5% higher oil and gas demand than our base case – equivalent to a whole new US Permian basin for oil and another Australia for gas.
Can the upstream sector rise to this challenge? There is sufficient oil and gas resource globally to meet this extra demand, but it would require a huge increase in investment.
Watch our Horizons Live replay, where our panel will discuss the recent Horizons insight in-depth.
