Joel is head of Wood Mackenzie’s Mexico power market research. He delivers analysis and forecasts of key power market fundamentals, monitors the regulatory framework of the sector and tracks project development.
Before joining Wood Mackenzie, Joel was a senior researcher at CIEP (Economic and Budgeting Research Center), a think tank focused on the analysis of public finance, where he led the energy and environmental research area.
Joel is an economist from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Economics from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) in Mexico City.
